19th-Nov-2007 07:12 am - Even cats love Disneyworld
Dragonfly
We're having a second family reunion of sorts at Disneyworld in January.  This time, Elvis really would like to go along, as he never really completely got over being left behind a couple of years ago...

Maybe we could let him hang out in the RV while we play.  It would be nice to have a kitty to snuggle at night.  That's the worst part about leaving home...no kitties!

Dragonfly
Tomorrow morning at 8:00 SHARP we drop the dog off at the kennel, and then we hit the highway in the direction of Myrtle Beach.  There aren't words to describe how ready I am for this trip.  The forecast now calls for rain pretty much the whole time was are there, and I'm not even that upset about it because I am just happy to be gone.  Far away.  Out of reach.   Until Monday, when all the people I can't wait to hide from will have access to me again.

I'm really hoping that we can spend lots of time doing stuff like this:

and when the sun disappears behind the hotel we will go here:

And then when it's too cold for all that, we will go inside and NAP, because naps are AWESOME!

We will later go have ourselves something to eat - preferably fresh seafood if we budget things right, and hopefully can even work in a round or two of miniature golf.  I don't care that we can't hit all of our usual haunts, because just being able to see and hear the waves crashing from our balcony will be enough to wash away some of the grouchiness that has been caking up on me like so much filth.  There is no way to be at the beach without undergoing a massive attitude adjustment for the better.

Y'all have a great weekend, and if you really miss me, you can look for me on the beach cam on the hotel's website:

Or, you can show up and surprise us, because it's $89.00 per night!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm still not quite over that price.  It makes me feel like I'm getting away with something.

24th-Jul-2006 05:11 pm - Back from Las Vegas
Dragonfly
We left for Las Vegas on Sunday, July 16th, and were supposed to get back on Saturday the 22nd, but that didn't work out for us. Over the next few days I will try to recap our adventures, because I need to have some kind of journal to use when it's time to put together a scrapbook.

Overall rating of vacation (not including travel to and from): A+

Overall rating of travel to and from: D-

Overall rating of The Venetian: A to A-

Overall rating of Blue Man Group show: B+ when you first come out of it, but C- after you see any of the Cirque Du Soliel shows and realize Blue Man Group's show is just random crap instead of random awesomeness like Cirque provides.

Today is the first day back at work and reality, and so far, I have not enjoyed it much. It's been better than hanging at the airport for hours on end, but the A/C in my car doesn't work, and I have jet lag, and there were half filled coffee cups in the sink at the office that had been left for me to wash. But, after a long commute home, and a long visit to the grocery store, I will be able to hang at home with Charles and the animals. Hopefully I will be able to find my way to the bed before falling dead asleep and then starting another exciting day back at work!
